COVENTRY will come up against former favourite Andreas Jonsson when they go for their tenth straight Elite League win at Lakeside on Wednesday.
Jonsson, a Bees rider between 1998 and 2005, signed a contract with the Hammers midway through this season but has made limited appearances due to injury.
The Swedish star's latest comeback from shoulder problems started in his home country on Tuesday, and he is declared in the Lakeside team to face the Buildbase Bees. But the Hammers will be without another ex-Coventry rider, Joonas Kylmakorpi, as the Finn is now out for the rest of the season with his own shoulder injuries.
Bees were beaten 52-41 at Purfleet earlier in the season on a disappointing night, but they generally fare well at the tight Essex venue and their confidence is sky-high after recent results.
Further good news is that Rory Schlein appears to have made a strong recovery from illness, as he top-scored for his Swedish club Smederna on Tuesday night with 14 points from five rides, including a win over World Champion-elect Nicki Pedersen - and his Bees team-mate Scott Nicholls!
Close rivals Poole are also in action on Wednesday, and can be expected to beat bottom club Belle Vue, and Bees' return fixture against the Hammers comes up on Bank Holiday Monday.
