COVENTRY Buildbase Bees race their penultimate Elite League fixture ahead of the play-offs at Peterborough on Wednesday - with the pressure, for once, off.
Bees are already guaranteed top spot in the table, and can therefore stage the second leg of the Grand Final at home should they reach that stage.
The semi-final at Brandon next Monday could feature either Peterborough or Poole, with Poole currently three points ahead in third place. If Peterborough overhaul them from their meetings on Wednesday and Thursday (at Ipswich), they will travel to Swindon in the semi-finals, with Poole then coming to Brandon.
The Panthers will be without Danish star Niels-Kristian Iversen due to an ankle injury, although the rider replacement facility makes every member of their side eligible for an extra ride.
Bees co-boss Peter Oakes said: "We've now got two meetings where there isn't that pressure to make sure we get into a particular position, as that job has been done. That's not something you generally get the chance of when you're chasing honours, and it gives the riders the opportunity to try a few things out which might be of use in the next few weeks."
PETERBOROUGH: Hans Andersen, Lukas Dryml, Niels-Kristian Iversen R/R, Daniel King, Kenneth Bjerre, Christian Hefenbrock, Piotr Swiderski.
