COVENTRY’S new 2020 programme THE BUZZ is now in production.
The first issue of the publication has gone to press via Curtis Sport and is available for delivery on Monday April 20.
Bees legend Tommy Knudsen, who was part of three British League title wins and captained the club to back-to-back successes in 1987 and 1988, is the subject of a major feature interview reflecting on his days at Brandon, and his life after Coventry.
Other historical items include a look back at the Bees programme from exactly 50 years ago in April 1970, including the notes of promoter Charles Ochiltree for the home clash with Swindon.
And a regular series ‘The Elite Years’ focuses in-depth on the 1997 season, in which the Bees recovered from a poor run to fight for silverware in the closing weeks.
The programme is designed to be relevant to both past and present – so in addition to the retro features and photographs, the ongoing fight to bring speedway and stock car racing back to the area after their shocking eviction at the end of the 2016 season is also covered, with a two-page Campaign update.
The 24-page A5 publication is ideal reading during these times of lockdown, and is also guaranteed to stir memories for Bees fans of all eras.
