DANISH star Kenneth Hansen is to make a special visit to the UK to race for Coventry at Leicester on Sunday.
Hansen, a popular member of the Bees’ 2014 line-up which reached the Elite League Grand Final, has agreed to appear in the East Midlands Bowl clash with the Lions at Beaumont Park (2pm).
Kenneth rode for Workington last year but has been absent from British racing since late-May when he was the victim of team changes at Peterborough.
But he jumped at the chance of racing on Sunday and will be driving himself and his machinery over, and is looking forward to seeing all of the Coventry fans once again.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that as we approach the ten-year anniversary of the Bees’ Elite League Treble, the bosses who masterminded that triumph will be re-united on Sunday.
Colin Pratt and Peter Oakes forged a hugely successful combination as joint managers, leading the Bees to six major honours in four years between 2005-08, including the clean sweep of league, KO Cup and Craven Shield in 2007.
With Scott Nicholls and Rory Schlein part of that side and both also lining up in the team on Sunday, it’s set to be an emotional reminder of some of the greatest days in the club’s history.
Pratt will also be going up against his former Great Britain managerial colleague Eric Boocock, who is to take charge of the Lions with their regular boss Jim Lynch unavailable on Sunday.
