NOTICE OF MOTION

Tuesday December 13, 2022
A NOTICE of Motion regarding Brandon Stadium has been proposed and will be heard at a full Council Meeting on Wednesday December 14.

The Notice has been proposed by Councillor Tony Gillias and seconded by Councillor Sebastian Lowe, the leader of Rugby Borough Council.

It reads as follows:

“This council recognises the importance of the sporting heritage within the borough, not only in respect to the game of rugby, but also to other long established and well supported sports associated with Brandon Stadium. We therefore request that, following the overwhelming public desire to reopen Brandon Stadium, this council explores options available to bring Brandon Stadium back into use and any likely public advantages to the local and wider communities, should this be achievable.”

This Notice will be discussed at Wednesday’s meeting, and put to a vote of all 42 councillors. It is item 8 on the agenda, and is the first of three Notices of Motion to be heard.

The meeting gets underway at 7pm and, as with the recent planning committee meeting, will be available to view live via the council’s YouTube channel.
